Sweet baby Thomas, expressive little one, has arrived to join a very exuberant and impish big sister!

Thomas' big sister, Madeline, (who was one of my early Willow Babies!) is quite expressive herself, as you'll see below. I can easily imagine the many homemade skits their parents will be treated to in years to come.Madeline was happy to let the spotlight highlight how sweet and snuggly a big sister she is!And of course, as older sibs are wont to do, she stole the show a bit.....But really, Thomas didn't mind.  He snoozed through most of it.Rockstar Momma, hands full of cute and wildness, moved through the session with so much humor and acceptance of the chaos. Daddy, too, had plenty of grins to share with the littles.

Impressive amounts of smiles, especially given the lack of parent sleep!!!

This is a family that knows finding laughter in the hard, hard job of parenting two littles is the way to go - I love it!!!And when one is just too tired out for laughter, there is always the possibility of amazing light fixtures to, (oye, I'm going to do it...... don't say I didn't warn you about the upcoming cheesy pun!) brighten one's day!! (groan).

I had so much fun with you four, and I'm super happy I had the chance to capture Thomas' arrival into your awesome family!

The Magical Growth of the First Year||Boston Newborn and Family Photography

Us humans are pretty amazing creatures! One of the many things I get reminded of time and again through my work.  Below left, Ethan & Noah, sleepily starting life outside the womb. And below right? A little over a year later, in all their curious, exploring, smiley, toothy glory!Watching their relationship to each other is such a fascinating treat.... I love their puff sharing/dropping/consuming antics below (definitely the snacks were a great motivator to keep them semi-still for a moment!) Here's the dashing Ethan, smiley as can be...... And Noah, enjoying a balmy December day, showing off an amazingly sweet little face..... Despite the chaos that comes with identical twins, their Mommy & Daddy keep lots of joy at the forefront, laughing about much of their currently very hectic life.

It has been such a pleasure capturing this first year for your family - I adore you four, and hope to be on hand for so many more future moments of cuteness and adventure. Love,

Vanessa||Watertown, MA Newborn Photography

Baby Benjamin||Belmont Newborn Photography

This precious boy radiated such sweetness - combine that with his sheer adorableness and he's kind of too much for words: Baby Benjamin, at a big 3 weeks old, was quite sensitive to being moved around while he was sleeping. Hard to know if it was a personality thing or him being slightly older than my standard newborn age of 14 days or less. This didn't deter me from capturing him and his adorable expressions and features: raised hands next to his face and perfectly formed widow's peak...  

Sweet eyelashes and a perfect nose... Smushy, kissable lips and the hope for inherited musical sensibilities....To Benjamin Charles, and his lovely parents - thank you for the privilege of being the first photographer to capture your young family! I can't wait to take more photos soon!

Darling Hazel || Wakefield, MA Newborn Photography

This brand new family radiates sweetness all around!  So I suppose it was to be expected that the darling Miss Hazel would be such a great and cooperative subject, asking quite politely for two mid-session feedings, and then letting us all get right back to business..... Little sweetie had an adorable head of hair that her momma made sure was being shown off - I love when clients catch little details that I lose track of....Hazel was well appointed with many special knits and gifts.... here she is snuggled in a beautiful new quilt made just for her by grandma, and in the sweet blue sweater that her momma wore when she was a baby! Hazel's daddy, who more or less has spent his life near or on the water, had his own meaningful contribution to her session: Doing little stretches right next to daddy's buoy is downright endearing, wouldn't you say?! Speaking of daddy, here he is, proud and pleased as can be!Hazel and her parents were most patient with me as I painstakingly set up this mirror shot. Like I said earlier, this family is the sweetest! I loved watching them adore each other and their darling bundle! Wrapping up this sneak peek with mommy-daughter photos....Thank you, you three, for having me to your home to document this amazing time.  So happy to have been on hand to capture the amazing sweetness of your family!

Miss Adela||Canton, MA Newborn Photography

So cutie pie Adela waited until the last possible moment to arrive, but boy! do her mommy & daddy ever adore her!  (I imagine her tardiness was instantly forgotten when they got a look at her kissable little lips and dark hair).Adela spent much of her time awake, wanting to check out everything going on during the session. When she did sleep though, she treated us with the most amazing little expressions..... Mommy, Daddy, & Adela comprise the most lovely little trio.... Mommy couldn't get in enough snuggles.....And Daddy wanted nothing more than to keep his new daughter comfy and happy....It's kind of hard to imagine anything sweeter than a new family.

So happy to be Adela's first photographer!  Thank you three for being so lovely and wonderful!

Joshua & Jacob ||Arlington Twin Newborn Photography

And now, introducing Jacob:I had the privilege of photographing these identical cuties last week. The little brothers were very much comforted by each other, snuggling and snoozing best when cozied up together. The boys, completely identical with nary a birthmark as a difference, keep everyone guessing... 

....except for their momma....

Their momma emitted calm, so despite nearby construction noise, the master bedroom was quite peaceful. The boys snoozed to the relaxing sounds of classical (Christmas!) music, which was extra beautiful after not having heard it for months. Although she didn't join us for the photo shoot, canine big sister, Maggie, did let me get a few shots of her as she lay sunning in the study. Welcome, Misters Jacob & Joshua! It was so wonderful photographing you two! A big congratulations to the whole family!

Sweetest Shelby||Winchester Newborn Photography

Miss Shelby, at a big 3 1/2 weeks old, had a lot of opinions about whether or not it was nap time during her session (spoiler: it was not, at least for the first two hours).  This gave me lots of time to capture her brimming personality and amazing expressions - so much fun to see such big personality in such a tiny person!

Eventually, after giving her snuggle time with mommy & daddy (which, to her dismay, I tried to photograph, and that was clearly not what she had in mind!) she finally agreed that a nap was a good idea.

And then, though still very sensitive about being moved around much, she did reward our patience with some very sweet snoozey photos.

Sweet girl - you may have gotten away with cutting your session short, but just know - I'll be back!  Mommy and Daddy have decidedly earned some non-crying photos with you!!....sneak peek to be continued......

The New Guy!||Wayland, MA Newborn & Family Photography

Since his Aba & Ima (daddy & momma in Hebrew:-) had already named New Guy's two big brothers, picking and agreeing on his name proved to be quite challenging.  No matter - my adorable subject - baby boy with the most gorgeous head of hair - got cooed and comforted to the name of "Baby", and "Sweet One".  How amazingly perfect is he?His big brothers didn't even notice he was sans name - they were so excited to have Their Baby! Arguing over and vying for turns to hold and kiss him, New Guy is already immersed in amazing amounts of love. His grandparents were on hand for the session too, snuggling in for some multi-generational shots. I photographed New Guy's middle brother as a newborn just a few short years ago, and it was so much fun seeing how two years has turned him into a giggly, sassy, funny toddler! These three hand-filling, heart-expanding, chaos-creating boys are beyond amazing:

There are so many elements of my job that I absolutely love - this family ranking quite high on that list! I loved seeing them again - how the bigger kids have changed and grown, and that while Aba and Ima are still exhausted, the love and humor at the core of their family bonds them together amidst the missing shoes, dirt-smudged cheeks, and nose-dives off the sofa....

The big boys were sent off to daycare, and the house became a quiet little haven surrounding New Guy and filled with the joy of his arrival.

So grateful to have been called upon to join your family again in capturing this big, beautiful change. Congrats, you five!!!
