Erica and Jack||Arlington, MA Family Photography

I'm here to introduce you to this AMAZING nine year old, Jack, and his stunning Momma Erica! I admit that I don't know any other nine year old boys, but I was so incredibly surprised by Jack's sweet and sassy, smart and thoughtful nature. He kindly indulged all my questions about playing football (still, I will never understand it), dealt with two ladies offering numerous "suggestions" and "requests" (okay, okay, we bossed him around a bit), sweetly kissed his mom's cheeks as many times as I asked, allowed himself to be taken over by laughter as Erica made goofy faces at him, and let himself get photographed while being snuggled. Baby Benjamin||Belmont Newborn Photography

This precious boy radiated such sweetness - combine that with his sheer adorableness and he's kind of too much for words: Baby Benjamin, at a big 3 weeks old, was quite sensitive to being moved around while he was sleeping. Hard to know if it was a personality thing or him being slightly older than my standard newborn age of 14 days or less. This didn't deter me from capturing him and his adorable expressions and features: raised hands next to his face and perfectly formed widow's peak...  

Sweet eyelashes and a perfect nose... Smushy, kissable lips and the hope for inherited musical sensibilities....To Benjamin Charles, and his lovely parents - thank you for the privilege of being the first photographer to capture your young family! I can't wait to take more photos soon!

Leif Turns One!||Somerville, MA Family Photography

Leif, pronounced "Life" has been my most regular dose of baby over the past 7 months. His mom, Anna, and I frequently share a booth while we both while away hours working from our "coffeeshop office" together. The biggest difference between her workflow and mine is that hers includes copious breaks for nursing, bouncing, and general baby entertainment. Hanging out with them has been such a joy, and doing his first year photo shoot was a dream come true (I'd literally been hinting, subtly asking, and then not so subtly suggesting that I photograph him since I first met them last winter!) So, here's a darling little buddy of mine, with his two amazing, caring, and fun-loving parents. Meet Leif:He's really as amazingly good-natured as he appears. Rarely fussy, huge and frequent smiles, and super social, this little dude is so much fun to spend time with. Now, if I may steal your attention away from his cuteness for a moment, I have an important question for you: You know how sometimes you're in the middle of a photo shoot and you go for an outfit change, only to realize you have a florescent pink bra under a loosely knitted top? And then, before you know what's happening, the photographer has taken off her white bra and handed it to you, while you stand there shocked, thinking she was originally offering to lend her tank top? No?  Not something that's happened to you before? Oddly enough, Anna hadn't ever experienced this before the session either. But enough about one photographer's absurd (and excessive!) dedication to a shoot. Back to my friend Anna being the sweet & fun momma that she is:While Leif is certainly kept busy with all the smiling, shoulder rides, and walking practice, he is also quite dedicated to cheerio scavenging: (a most serious endeavor indeed!) To Leif, Anna & Nate: it was such an honor to capture this these photos for you - I loved spending an early fall morning with you, welcoming the sun out from behind the clouds, chasing after balloons, inadvertently risking indecent exposure, and celebrating a whole year of your sweet sweet family. Baby on the Way!||Beacon Hill Maternity Photographs

A radiant momma indeed! Gorgeous Lauren braved the Boston Common on a most busy fall Saturday afternoon in her flowy maternity dress - a bit more sheer than she would have liked...

...but I think we can all agree that she not only pulled it off but she completely rocked it!

Hubby Shane's excitement and pride over his beautiful wife and her amazing growing belly was very touching to witness indeed. He was clearly in awe of her :-)

While I know I'll have the honor of photographing their little one when she's born, baby's name will remain a secret until then. I caught these smiles below after asking them about potential names the other suggested that they had to veto.

To Lauren, Shane, and sweet Baby Girl - I can't wait to see you all again in a few month's time!

Beautiful Belly! || Newton,MA Maternity Photos

Her dress was from my dreams!  Literally! The night before Momma K's maternity session, I dreamed of her in a beautiful grey, flowy gown. When she showed me her options for her outfit, she pulled out, well.... what you see her in below.  Not to be too cheesy, but this was basically a dream session.... between the perfect summer evening light and the enthusiastic attitude of my gorgeous subject, I couldn't be more excited to show you this Momma and her beautiful belly, in all it's growing glory! It ended up making sense to take her photos a little earlier than I normally recommend for maternity shots, but between this being her second little one (and all mommas of more than one know how much faster your body takes on the look of pregnancy 2nd time around!!!) and her willingness to push her belly out a bit for the laying down shot, I'd say we made it work quite well. This last one doesn't show her belly, but she looks too beautiful here not to share...Momma K - I'm so happy and excited for you and your growing family! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to capture this time in your family's story!

Henry & Nora Turn One!||Bedford, Ma Family Photography

In honor of Henry & Nora turning one, their Momma wanted to have a family photo session. Despite it being one of the most humid days of the summer, we had a wonderful time eliciting smiles out of these two little explorers! Daddy needed little encouragement to kiss his lovely wife! (who claimed she knew little about fashion and then put together a wonderful wardrobe for her family!) Here's Momma with her little girl - such snuggly love!Daddy, who stays at home on kiddo duty, has quite the calming effect on his littles.  (And despite the fact that we were about to wrap up the session, and Henry and Nora were both feeling rather done, Momma got some cute little smiles out of them, dancing or goofing off behind me.)Kisses clearly had to be returned, which, again, needed little encouragement :-)Lastly, Henry, in a final burst of energy, wanted to end the session with high flying antics and huge smiles!Happy Birthday, Nora & Henry!  Here's to another great year!!  I had such a great time meeting all of you!

Darling Hazel || Wakefield, MA Newborn Photography

This brand new family radiates sweetness all around!  So I suppose it was to be expected that the darling Miss Hazel would be such a great and cooperative subject, asking quite politely for two mid-session feedings, and then letting us all get right back to business..... Little sweetie had an adorable head of hair that her momma made sure was being shown off - I love when clients catch little details that I lose track of....Hazel was well appointed with many special knits and gifts.... here she is snuggled in a beautiful new quilt made just for her by grandma, and in the sweet blue sweater that her momma wore when she was a baby! Hazel's daddy, who more or less has spent his life near or on the water, had his own meaningful contribution to her session: Doing little stretches right next to daddy's buoy is downright endearing, wouldn't you say?! Speaking of daddy, here he is, proud and pleased as can be!Hazel and her parents were most patient with me as I painstakingly set up this mirror shot. Like I said earlier, this family is the sweetest! I loved watching them adore each other and their darling bundle! Wrapping up this sneak peek with mommy-daughter photos....Thank you, you three, for having me to your home to document this amazing time.  So happy to have been on hand to capture the amazing sweetness of your family!

Miss Adela||Canton, MA Newborn Photography

So cutie pie Adela waited until the last possible moment to arrive, but boy! do her mommy & daddy ever adore her!  (I imagine her tardiness was instantly forgotten when they got a look at her kissable little lips and dark hair).Adela spent much of her time awake, wanting to check out everything going on during the session. When she did sleep though, she treated us with the most amazing little expressions..... Mommy, Daddy, & Adela comprise the most lovely little trio.... Mommy couldn't get in enough snuggles.....And Daddy wanted nothing more than to keep his new daughter comfy and happy....It's kind of hard to imagine anything sweeter than a new family.

So happy to be Adela's first photographer!  Thank you three for being so lovely and wonderful!

Sam Turns One!! || Milton, Ma Family Photography

Meet Sam:He's quite the go-getter, walking around on his own already. And while he may still welcome a little help with slide prep, life is pretty great for this little guy.Especially with these two awesome mommies, who seriously know how to throw a party!

Personalized all-stars for each of Sam's little buddies and this gorgeous Dr. Seuss cake........ which is, of course, in honor of Sam's first birthday!  First birthday means first cake!  Ready for it?What began as tentative exploration by a daper gentleman in a bowtie soon became a total immersion into the world of sugary goodness!Yay for Sam!  Yay for cake!!!

And of course, there's really only one thing to do after that kind of interaction with one's cake....After bath time and making his rounds of goodbyes, it was time for the birthday boy to sleep off some of the sugar. (Little did he know that while he was sleeping, his mommies were getting a head start on some of the present unwrapping.)Happy Birthday, Sam!! Thanks for inviting me to your party!
